Levitt-Fuirst was founded by V. David Levitt (1936 - 2006) and Alan J. Fuirst, two law school friends. David and Alan each joined their fathers’ respective insurance businesses, following graduation from NYU Law School. In 1969, they combined their offices and formed Levitt-Fuirst Associates, Ltd. in Mt. Vernon, NY.

From there, David and Alan grew the firm into one of New York’s most respected middle market independent insurance agencies. Clients range from large worldwide manufacturers to local businesses, each with their own unique insurance needs. To accommodate growth, Levitt-Fuirst moved to Eastchester, NY, and then to its current location in Yonkers.

Early growth of Levitt-Fuirst was fueled by success of its workers compensation Safety Group for building contractors. David Levitt’s father, Victor, who worked closely with the construction unions, teamed-up with the Builders Institute of Westchester in 1951 to create the Safety Group with the State Insurance Fund. Many contractors throughout the metropolitan area soon learned about this unique program. In addition to workers compensation, Levitt-Fuirst began to specialize in the broad spectrum of insurance needs for the contracting community. Today, Levitt-Fuirst is a board member and insurance advisor to the Builders Institute of Westchester, and also supports the Building Contractors Association of Westchester.

In addition to the building contractor’s Safety Group, Levitt-Fuirst developed a workers compensation Safety Group for the real estate industry in 1990. They combined this new Safety Group with a strong, competitive offering of real estate-focused insurance programs to serve apartments, co-ops, condominiums, and commercial buildings. Levitt-Fuirst had become a leading insurance agency for the tri-state real estate markets. The firm is currently the insurance advisor to the Realty Institute of Westchester.

In the early 1990’s, Levitt-Fuirst began adding a new generation of management. Ken Fuirst and Darryl Friedricks joined the firm, followed by Jason Schiciano and Anthony Bosciano. The four helped to broaden the reach of Levitt-Fuirst and drove the quadrupling of the premium volume. In order to support long-time and new customers alike, the firm has assembled an experienced, reliable customer service team, which understands the importance of personal service and attention-to-detail. Our goal is to address your insurance needs and issues promptly, pleasantly, and thoroughly, so that you can address other important areas of your personal and business life.

The firm’s recent growth has also been managed by continuous improvement efforts. Streamlined processes and upgrades to the latest insurance industry technologies allow Levitt-Fuirst’s forty employees to maximize service capabilities to valued customers. Weekly customer service meetings insure that all of our departments are aware of the status and current needs of each policy-holder.
