Family Protection is an insurance policy developed to help cover certain costs if an insured or an insured’s loved one is a victim of a home invasion, child abduction, carjacking or stalking threat crime almost anywhere in the world. The limits and types of coverage differ depending on the cause of the loss, but cumulatively the policy covers the reasonable costs for:
- Medical expenses, psychiatric services, related rest and recuperation as prescribed, lost salary, travel expenses
- Expenses for a professional public relations consultant, a forensic analyst, publicity expenses, a security consultant, security guard services
- Expenses to change residential locks, install or improve security systems, temporarily relocate, pay reward payments
- Under certain circumstances, the insured’s vehicle physical damage deductible or homeowners deductible
